Success Stories
My students have gotten into a variety of colleges, but along the way, I hope they've learned to be more curious, more open-minded, more gracious, and more kind. I consider a student who at least feels different than when they started a success — the college acceptances are a testament to that! Please note that the jump in years is due to my time in the admissions office when I was not working with students.

About a week after I received my decisions, my mom asked me whether I thought I would've got in without Jay's help; after I thought about it I sincerely told her no.
In conjunction with his knowledge (what extracurricular programs and awards mattered, what exact traits schools—both private and public, which differed—looked for), the enormous amount of time he spent getting to know me and what traits to highlight throughout my applications was invaluable.
All that was before we tackled essays. While writing, he pushed me to think more critically about my environment and goals than I would've on my own, and I found myself with a more developed worldview to bring into my drafts. Jay provided a lot of insights on how exactly to express traits and what traits a given anecdote might dive into. For example, when we were talking about my home city, Jay pushed me to think critically about the divides within and how they'd affected my thinking. I really do love what I produced.
